Wow, it is so hard to believe that you've only been here three months little one, already it's impossible to imagine life without you. Ok, I admit that I fondly remember when I got to sleep in as late as I wanted but other than that life seems so much richer these days. Because of you I appreciate the subtle details of every aspect of life more. Even getting up early brings a smile to my face because when I wake up the first thing I hear is you in the other room chatting away with the Buddha or your Ruby or your favorite ceiling vent. I can't imagine there existing a happier baby anywhere on the planet and I like to believe part of that is the security you feel with me and the rest of your loving family.
I know being without daddy isn't ideal, but everytime you smile I like to believe that you think I'm doing an ok job filling in for him. We will all be together in less than two weeks now and I can't wait for him to experience the joy of being with you as you continue to learn and grow and smile.
While we waited for him you:
* Sleeping 8-9 hours at a stretch every night.
* Put away all her 0-3 month clothes.
* Got her first passport.
* Rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time. It was totally on accident and I missed it, only coming running when she started screaming bloody murder about suddenly facing the opposite direction.
* Enjoyed her first road trip
* Stuck her toes in the sand and the Pacific ocean.
* Learned how to pout. Oh lord, just one glimpse of that pouty lower lip and I'm ready to cave and buy her a pony. We are definately in trouble.
* Watched her first Dodger game on tv, GG said she watched the whole thing. She really is my daughter.
* Had her first full belly laugh. There is nothing more precious in the world than watching her get truely joyous about something.
* Watched her first entire movie. Mama is proud it was a sci-fi, not so proud it was Dragon Wars. Something about the dragons tickled her fancy and she spent the entire 2 hours screeching and laughing at/with them.
* Learned how to put Ruby into her mouth all by herself. Ok, sometimes she gets a foot and not the pacifer but she gets an A for effort.
* Has really started to see the world around her. She spends alot of time these days trying to spin her head 360 degrees so she can take in everything.
And just in time for the 3 month mark, this morning she found her toes for the very first time all by herself. Twice in the last week she has really seen them when other people hold them but this morning she caught sight of one all on her own and she got the biggest grin on her face.
I think I would move the world just to see that grin. Your mommy and daddy love you more than words can say baby girl.
